Months of pink blooms over electric, ever-shifting foliage that glows pineapple-gold, then flushes orange and red.
Pineapple Poprocks® Spiraea (Spiraea japonica 'Golden Jack') is a compact, fast-growing deciduous shrub that earns its place on color alone. New growth emerges in fiery tones of orange and red, matures to a bright pineapple-yellow, and turns up the warmth again in fall. From spring straight through to frost, clusters of rosy-pink flowers sit atop that glowing foliage, drawing in bees and butterflies. Staying a tidy 2 to 3 feet tall and wide, it has a neat mounded habit that needs almost no shaping, making it one of the easiest ways to add long-season color to a sunny spot.
Why growers choose Pineapple Poprocks
Color from spring to fall. Pink flower clusters bloom across the whole growing season, so there is rarely a dull moment in the bed.
Foliage that changes all year. Orange-red new growth ages to glowing yellow-gold, with a renewed warm flush in autumn for true multi-season interest.
Genuinely cold-hardy. Rated for USDA zones 3 through 8, it shrugs off harsh northern winters that stop many flowering shrubs.
Compact and low-fuss. A naturally rounded 2-to-3-foot habit holds its shape with minimal pruning, ideal for smaller yards and tighter plantings.
Pollinator magnet. The long bloom run keeps bees and butterflies visiting from spring well into fall.
Use it as a low informal hedge, a bright edge along a walkway or foundation, a repeated accent in a mixed border, or a standout in a large container. Wherever it lands in full sun, it delivers dependable color month after month.
